OZONE THERAPY
At Cell Balance, ozone therapy is one of our most powerful tools for activating healing from within. We use medical grade ozone gas to gently prompt a cascade of beneficial biological effects. Ozone’s controlled oxidative properties stimulate antioxidant production, purify tissues, enhance oxygen metabolism, increase blood flow, and modulate immunity. We administer ozone to deliver these targeted effects throughout the body. Whether you struggle with diabetes, chronic pain, inflammation, decreased energy, or infection, ozone therapy can help manage issues at their root cause. We carefully tailor ozone protocols to you and combine it with other therapies to amplify healing. Ozone’s regenerative power is applied in both localized and systemic ways to help you thrive.
Ozone Therapy Overview
Ozone therapy is an innovative healing modality that utilizes the unique properties of medical-grade ozone gas to stimulate and enhance the body’s innate capacity to heal. Ozone gas is composed of three oxygen atoms, making it a highly reactive substance when introduced to the tissues. Administered in precise dosages by trained practitioners, ozone therapy can trigger a host of biological responses including immune activation, increased oxygen delivery, antioxidant production, anti-inflammatory effects, improved circulation, and detoxification.
Ozone gas is administered via methods like intravenous infusion, injection, insufflation, or topically/transdermally in ozonated oils. By spurring this cascade of effects, ozone therapy can provide wide-ranging benefits from accelerating healing of acute injuries, regulating immune function, reducing pain and inflammation, increasing energy, improving cellular function, and supporting healthy aging. As a well-researched treatment tool, ozone therapy offers a safe, non-toxic way to stimulate and enhance the body’s self-regulating systems.
How Ozone Therapy Works On The Body
Ozone therapy awakens the body’s innate healing powers using the vibrant vitality of ozone gas. Comprised of three energized oxygen atoms, ozone delivers a therapeutic burst of oxidation when introduced to the body’s tissues. This prompts your cells to switch into an adaptive state of renewal.Like nudging a sleeping giant, ozone’s stimulation calls your body’s self-regulating capacities into action. Your tissues drink in the reactive properties of ozone through infusion, insufflation, or targeted injection. An elaborate cascade follows the ozone’s arrival, dancing through your anatomy.
- Immune Activation: Ozone stimulates the production of cytokines that activate and mobilize immune cells. This boosts the body’s natural defenses.
- Anti-Inflammatory Effect: Ozone acts as a mild oxidant to inhibit the inflammatory cascade, reducing swelling, pain, and inflammatory markers.
- Antimicrobial Action: Ozone destroys bacteria, viruses, fungi and other pathogens through oxidation, supporting the body’s ability to fight infection.
- Improved Circulation: Ozone exposure triggers vasodilation and improves rheological properties of blood, enhancing perfusion and oxygen delivery.
Ozone Treatment Descriptions
- Major Autohemotherapy (MAH): In this procedure, between 15ml and 400ml of blood could be withdrawn using a needle or IV catheter. The blood is mixed with citrate (a plant based anti-coagulant to keep the blood from clotting) and treated with the oxygen/ozone gas mixture of equal volume to blood removed. The treated blood is then returned to the patient. Ozone gas is NOT directly injected into the vein. Major Autohemotherapy has not been reported to have any significant risk of serious reactions or side effects, when done properly. This procedure is performed using sterile instruments. The blood is collected into a glass or syringe, which avoids the problem of toxic byproducts (phthalates) to the patient.
- Major Autohemotherapy/ Photoluminescence UV blood treatment MAH/PUVBT: This is a MAH, where the blood passes through a UV chamber on the way back to the patient. It can be helpful in cases of infection and some other ailments such as clotting diseases/hypercoagulability.
- Ozonated Saline infusion: involves the infusion of 250 cc of sterile 0.9% saline that has been pretreated with ozone/oxygen and continuously fed with a low dose of ozone/oxygen during the infusion. A larger portion of blood is treated but with a lower dose of ozone than the MAH procedure. This procedure can be done alone or can be followed by a Minor autohemotherapy procedure.
- Minorautohemotherapy (MiAH): involves withdrawal of 5 to 10 ml of blood, mixing with ozone gas in the syringe and reinjecting the blood and ozone gas intramuscularly into the gluteus muscle. The purpose of this is to provide vaccine-like immune stimulation to specific microbes or abnormal cells that are already in the blood. There is little pain associated with IM gluteal injection. However, a needle can penetrate a hidden blood vessel, and cause bleeding along the needle tract.
- Direct Joint Injection: Direct joint injection, in appropriate cases, the joint will be anesthetized and ozone gas directly injected under sterile conditions.
- Injection of Ozone Gas Under the Skin: Injection of ozone gas under the skin for possible pain relief and stimulation of meridians, improvement of blood flow
- Rectal or Vaginal Insufflations: Ozone gas/oxygen can be placed into the rectum or vagina under low pressure. This can be helpful in cases of need for systemic/body ozone when no large vein is available for the MAH. It can also be helpful for colon or rectal disease, and for vaginal diseases.

Prepare for Your Treatment with These Helpful Tips:
Before your treatment, it’s important to follow these steps to ensure the best possible results. First, make sure to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. Additionally, avoid consuming any alcohol or caffeine for at least 24 hours prior to your appointment.
- Hydrate: Drink extra fluids like water before and after your session to support detoxification and minimize side effects like fatigue or headaches. Proper hydration aids the treatment.
- Adjust diet: Avoid inflammatory foods like sugar, dairy, and alcohol around your therapy sessions. Focus on anti-inflammatory foods like vegetables, fruits, and omega-3s to optimize effects.
- Research and Learn: Read up on the process and expected effects of ozone therapy so you know what to expect. Look for information from reputable medical sources.
- Rest and Take it Easy: Plan for rest periods before and after your ozone therapy appointments as some people can feel tired or have flu-like symptoms as the body detoxes. Give yourself down time.
Treatment Process: What to Expect
Our treatment process is designed to provide effective and natural solutions for your health needs. We combine advanced techniques with holistic approaches to optimize your body’s cellular balance.
- Ozone Generation: Ozone gas will be generated on-site from medical-grade oxygen via an ozone generator just prior to your treatment. The ozone concentration and dosage will be calibrated for you.
- Administration: The ozone will be administered via injection, IV, insufflation, or other delivery method depending on the condition being treated. This is when you will have direct exposure.
- Treatment Time: The amount of direct exposure time to ozone gas will vary based on the method, dosage, and your individual needs. Sessions typically range from a few minutes to up to an hour.
- Post-treatment Guidance: We’ll provide guidelines to follow after treatment like drinking extra fluids, resting, taking anti-oxidants, and reporting any unusual reactions promptly.
